Definition of Decorative Design

Decorative design is a design drawing that was created to be applied as a decoration on disposable items or other objects that are decorative. Disposable items are meant clothing and linen household, including objects for decorative ornaments such as decorative wall. There are two kinds of design, namely (a) structural design, and (b) decorative design.
  • Structural design is the arrangement of line, shape, color, texture and size of a design object, eg fashion design, furniture design.
  • Decorative design is the arrangement of lines, shapes, colors, textures and sizes that serve to beautify the appearance of an object, eg decoration design clothing, household linen decorative designs.
Decorative design on an object is basically additional decorations (make up) are applied to produce beauty. Decoration itself plays as a medium to enhance, beautify or to make a graceful works of art.
